Unique experience

Memory, nature and technology. These are the keys on which the Camiños de Andar ao Mar experience is designed (Caminos de Ir al Mar).

MEMORY because the proposal begins with a route traced on the paths that our ancestors opened in their daily coming and going. The intervention on them is minimal, just enough to make their transit easier. Memory also because along the way you will discover traces and stories of those people.

NATURE because it surrounds everything, with the sound of the sea as a soundtrack, with the immensity of the ocean always on the horizon and with the most hidden wealth of the two Natura 2000 Network spaces that join the Ways, which we will help you discover.

TECHNOLOGY because we want the staging to be an added value. In the Caseta de Pepe do Cuco, the visitors center of the Ways, you will live an experience like no other ethnographic space. The technical resources, with a unique automation in this type of center, create a unique discourse to tell an inimitable story.

The word of the ancestors and the sound of the sea.

Even before starting to walk, you will feel that the environment shakes you. The beating of the sea, the infinite horizon on one side and the slopes that ascend on the other will always be present. Occasionally the humming of the wind, the howl of the kestrel or the sand of the beaches will come out.

In addition, we will help you discover other more hidden secrets of our landscape and our history. Small brushstrokes on the animals that fly over you or swim a few meters from you; also the ones related to the trades of the sea or tragic episodes, such as the shipwrecks of the Ariete and the Prestige.

And, as a great protagonist, in addition to that powerful landscape, the memory of the people of the sea that we reveal to you in the Caseta de Pepe do Cuco. The chosen place could not be more suitable, an authentic fisherman's hut in Portocubelo, Lira, one of the great fishing centers of Carnota which, as a result of a long tradition, has its own guild, fishing port and fish market. Also, a few meters away, the remains of the salting factories are still visible, testimony to the first industrialization of the coast.
